The next post from our “What to do in Destin” series is the waverunner.  If a thrill of a pontoon or the chill of a paddle-board is not enough a waverunner, sometimes called jet ski, sea do, or waterbike might just be the ticket.  Grab one or two thrill seekers and venture out on a guided dolphin tour where finding flipper´s cousin is almost inevitable.  Want more freedom without the confines of a guided tour? Visit La Dolce Vita on the harbor located just west of AJ’s Oyster Bar next door to Destin Beach Parasail and take a ski out for a hour or two and race to your hearts delight at speeds sure to put a smile on your face and put the wind in your hair.  Ask if you can rent a ski with your pontoon and enjoy the best of both worlds.  The normal renting periods are half and full days for pontoons and by the hour for jet skis.  The age restriction imposed for waverunner rental is 18 years old with a boaters safety card and over 22 years old without the boaters safety card.  If you do not have a boater’s safety card the rental livery will have tests available for only $3.00 and is similar to a driving test.  It just covers the rules of the road and some basic safety issues that come with being on a waverunner.

Location is everything if you are considering renting one of these jet skis.  La Dolce Vita is located close to Destin’s harbor entrance making the journey in the no wake zone short. This allows you more freedom and bang for your hard earned dollar.  At over a dollar a minute you do not want have any unnecessary waisted time.  Within six minutes from our location you can open the waverunner up to find out just how big your smile can get.  Some of the other locations have 10 and 15 minute rides to the fun zone.  This is each way!!  Do the math; see you soon!  Look at our website under “other fun stuff” for more details.
